DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's soccer team ended the spring season on a six-game winning streak picking up a pair of wins against Ball State University (2-1) on April 13 and Ohio University (3-0) on April 18 in games played on Baujan Field.

"We were really pleased with the progress of the team in many areas this spring," said head women's soccer Coach Mike Tucker.

Dayton posted an overall record of 6-1-2 at the end of the season.

The Flyers began the season on February 25 at the Indiana University Tournament losing to Indiana State (0-1) and tied both University of Kentucky and Indiana (0-0).

UD picked up momentum at the Slippery Rock Invitational taking winning three games against Duquesne University (2-1), Slippery Rock University (2-0), and Robert Morris University (3-1) and continued its winning streak at home defeating Eastern Kentucky University (3-0), Ball State and Ohio.

"Our improvements in both the attack and in defending as a team were noticeable. The girls showed tremendous commitment to success in all areas, including academic. Coach Mark Thobe did a great job with their strength and conditioning and the results were easy to see by the play out on the field," said Coach Tucker.

"The spring was tremendously successful and it gives us reason for great optimism heading into the fall season," he added.
