Fall Schedule

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's soccer team will compete in 20 matches in 2008 and is set to open up the fall campaign on Friday, August 22 against the Indiana Hoosiers at Baujan Field as announced by head coach Mike Tucker on Tuesday. The Flyers will face two opponents that finished in the NSCAA/Adidas Top 25 poll last season.

After opening up the year at home with IU, Dayton will hit the road for the Illinois Tournament Aug. 29-31, where they will face Pittsburgh in the opening match-up. The Flyers will then remain on the road to play Michigan in a game slated for Friday, Sept. 5 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Dayton will return home for three more non-conference games. UD will face Cincinnati on September 9 before squaring off against the nationally-ranked Duke Blue Devils and Rutgers on Baujan Field.

On September 19, the Flyers will rekindle their rivalry in a showdown with cross-town foe Wright State in Fairborn, Ohio. The teams have not faced off since 2004, and Dayton has won the past six contests against the Raiders.

Dayton will begin Atlantic 10 play on October 5 when it hosts Richmond. The Flyers' 11-game conference schedule is also highlighted by road contests with Xavier on October 5 and 2007 A-10 Tournament champion Charlotte on October 24. The 2008 A-10 Women's Soccer Championship will be held November 6-9 in St. Louis, MO.

The Flyers wrapped up spring play this past weekend at home versus Ohio State, losing to the Buckeyes 2-0.

Dayton finished the 2007 campaign 13-4-4 and reached the Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinals. The 2008 Flyers will return 20 players from last season's squad, including 2007 Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year Mandi Bäck.
