WOMEN'S SOCCER RELEASES 2005 CAMP INFORMATION
March 9, 2005 DAYTON - University of Dayton women's soccer head coach Mike Tucker has announced dates for the UD Women's Soccer Camps for the summer of 2005. UD will host two weeks of Residential Camp as well as two weeks of Day Camp. The 2005 Camp Schedule: DAY CAMPS "There are a number of reasons to do a residential camp," Tucker said. "We feel it is part of our obligation as an academic institution to offer quality soccer instruction to area youths and to enhance our ability to evaluate and to recruit student-athletes. We hope to build on last year's very successful camps." The camp staff will include Coach Tucker, UD assistant coaches Manoj Khettry and Amy Berbary, as well as nationally recognized college, club and high school coaches. Current and former UD women's soccer players will also assist with camp and interact with the campers throughout the week. Entering his 10th season as the head coach of the Dayton Flyers, Tucker has won nearly 75% of his games and ranks among the top active coches at the Division-I level in winning percentage. He has twice been named All-Ohio Coach of the Year and twice the Atlantic 10 Conference Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2004. Under Tucker, the Flyers have won a record eight Atlantic 10 Regular Season championships, five Tournament titles and have been to the NCAA Tournament five times in the past six seasons. "We have a great staff assembled," Tucker said. "And we are excited about creating a camp environment where we can evaluate a player much more thoroughly than seeing them in a tournament or a game. They will be in front of us and other college coaches for four days. We will get to know what truly makes them tick and they will learn what it means to be a Flyer! This camp will be the best way for players to learn first-hand the training methods and philosophy that we have used to become an Atlantic 10 Champion and an NCAA Tournament team."
