CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Dayton women's soccer team dropped a hard fought 2-1 decision to Charlotte Friday night at Transamerica Field in an Atlantic 10 matchup.

The Flyers (11-5-1, 5-2-1 A-10) suffered their second conference setback while the 49ers remain undefeated in A-10 play at 12-3-1 overall and 8-0-0 in the conference. It was an evenly matched contest that saw 10 shots for Dayton to Charlotte's 11.

The 49ers struck first in the 25th mionute, as Nikki Czaplicki put away a goal on a rebound save.

Freshman Kelsey Owen evened the score early in the second stanza. She put away a goal directly under the crossbar in the 60th minute.

Jonna Handra notched the game winner in the 74th minute on a blast from 25 yards out that hooked past senior Deana Waintraub.

Dayton continues its A-10 road swing when they take on Saint Louis this Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. at Hermann Field.
