An injury left Jen Simonetti sidelined for much of last season, and UD missed not only her offense punch from the backfield but also her unquestionable work ethic and leadership on the field. At 5-5, she has excelled in winning balls in the air and keeping possession in the backfield. Simonetti was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 performer as a sophomore and named to the 2003 Preseason All-Conference team.
Junior (2003)
Preseason Atlantic 10 All-Conference...appeared in just eight matches...injury forced her to miss the remainder of season...scored two goals and collected an assist to finish seventh on the team in scoring...scored the game-winner as the Flyers downed Marshall 3-0 in the home opener...came back two days later to score the equalizer just before halftime as UD shocked No. 6 Virginia with a 1-1 tie at Baujan Field...was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and to the Soccer Buzz Team of the Week for her efforts against Marshall and Virginia...provided the game-winning assist the following weekend in a 1-0 win over Furman in the Furman Select Kickoff Classic.
Sophomore (2002)
First Team Atlantic 10 All-Conference...A-10 All-Championship Team...followed up her fantastic freshman campaign with an even better season as a sophomore...one of just three Flyers to start every match...a key part of the Flyers' defense, which allowed just 14 goals in 21 matches while letting up a mere 185 shots (nine per game)...scored two goals and collected an assist, including the game-winner against Duquesne.
Freshman (2001)
Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team...Soccer Buzz Great Lakes All-Freshman Team...started every game as an outside defender...contributed six points offensively with two goals and two assists...first career tally was a memorable one as she netted the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Duquesne...other goal came in A-10 play versus Temple.
High School
One of Northeast Ohio's top defenders her final two prep seasons...was a Division I Second Team All-State selection as a senior and a three-time member of the Akron Beacon Journal All-Star Team...led Copley to the District Finals in 200...named the 2001 Female Athlete of the Year at Copley...played for the Ohio Premier Club.
