Selected a captain for the second straight season, Jacqueline Luehrs contiunes to be a leader both on and off the field for the Flyers. Both speedy and physical on the outside, Luehrs was a key in the Flyers' defensive strategy. She stepped right into a full-time position as a freshman and has been a reliable defensive player ever since.
Senior (2005)
Luehrs saw action in 19 games for the Flyers this season, starting 15...Her leadership as captain was invaluable to the younger players, as well as helping the Flyers defense hold opponents to under one goal per game...She took two shots this season, with one at Texas finding it's way to the net.
Junior (2004)
Made 17 starts and saw action in all 22 matches last season...recored an assist and took five shots...the assist -- her first career point -- came in a 4-0 win over Massachusetts...after starting the first three matches, she came off the bench for five straight then started the remaining 14 matches of the season.
Sophomore (2003)
Played in 21 matches with 15 starts...integral part of the UD defense that allowed just 22 goals in 22 matches...once again stepped into a full-time starting role following an injury to Jen Simonetti...also earned starts against No. 19 Clemson and No. 10 California.
Freshman (2002)
Stepped right into a starting role following an early season injury to Nina DiGuardi...played in all 21 matches and made 17 starts on the outside...was part of UD's star-studded defense that held opponents to just 14 goals in 21 matches.
High School / Club
Super-sectional champions and state runner-up in her junior year and super-sectional finalists as a sophomore...St. Viator was nationally-ranked No. 2 in a spring preseason poll by www.studentsports.com heading into her senior season...both a junior and senior captain...was All-Conference, All-Area and Second Team All-State as both a sophomore and junior...Eclipse Select club team was State Cup finalists in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
