Amanda Kuntz will return for her fifth-year as a Flyer and is the only returning goalkeeper to have played minutes in a UD uniform. The very athletic hometown product from Vandalia, who possesses good height and leaping ability in the net, was a soccer, basketball and track standout in high school.
Senior (2005)
Kuntz saw action in four games during her final season in a Flyer uniform, giving up one goal in 44:50 of action....she made three saves on the season, and faced a total of eight shots...started in net against Charlotte on October 16.
Senior (2004)
Was in the lineup twice, which included the full 90 minutes (her first career start) in a key, regional win over Oakland, 2-1...The victory over Oakland was also her first career victory...played the second half versus George Washington and made three saves to help the Flyers post one of a team-record 13 shutouts on the season...in 135 minutes of action, she owned a 0.67 goals against average and an .800 save percentage.
Junior (2003)
Played the final 45 minutes in an Atlantic 10 victory down the stretch against Temple...made four saves versus the Owls, helping the Flyers record one of their nine shutouts for the season.
Sophomore (2002)
Saw action in two matches and did not allow a goal...logged minutes in back-to-back conference wins over St. Bonaventure and Temple and collected two saves.
Freshman (2001)
Did not see action as a freshman and received a redshirt.
High School / Club
Helped guide her Butler team to the regional semifinal in 2000 as the team finished 15-2-1...the goalkeeper played in every match as the Aviators posted 10 shutouts...blanked 12 opponents in 1998 to set a school record and totaled 29 for her career...finished with a 0.72 goals against average, on her way to All-Area and All-League honors as a senior...was a four-year starter on the basketball team and a successful track athlete...was a regional qualifier in both the long jump and high jump as a junior and senior, being named the track team's MVP in 2000.
