George Demetriades began working with the women's soccer team in 1997, after serving as an assistant with the UD men from 1993-96.
Demetriades was a long-time boy's soccer coach at Northmont High School in Dayton where he compiled a career record of 289-47-21 in 17 seasons. He guided Northmont to state titles in 1978 and 1988, with the `88 club going 25-0 and finishing third in the nation. Northmont was also state semifinalists three times and won the district championship 10 times during his reign. He is a retired teacher from Northmont where he taught for 32 years.
Demetriades played high school soccer in Salonika, Greece, and then had a one-year stint with a semi-pro soccer club. He accepted a scholarship from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and played soccer there for a short time. He graduated in 1962.
