On Friday, the Dayton Flyers Women's Rowing program announced the 2008-2009 Novice Team.

After a tryout period, head coach Derek Copeland announced the 26 student-athletes that have been named to the novice team. The team is primarily comprised of freshman with 23 rowers and three coxswains.

"This is one of the deepest novice groups that we have ever had, and I am really excited about the amount of potential that I see in them," Copeland said.

UD's next race will take place on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Head of the Eagle in Indianapolis.
