UD WOMEN'S ROWING HOSTS THREE-TEAM MEET ON SATURDAY

The Dayton Flyers Women's Rowing team will race the Duquesne Dukes and West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday, April 5 at Eastwood Lake. The lake is located off Route 4 at the Harshman Road exit.

Racing will begin at 8 a.m. ET, with the event schedule proceeding as follows:

8:30 a.m. -Varsity 8
8:45 a.m. - Novice 4 A
9:00 a.m. - Junior Varsity 8
9:15 a.m. - Novice 8
9:30 a.m. - Varsity 4
9:45 a.m. - Novice 4 B

30 minute break

10:15 a.m. - Lightweight 8

Racing is expected to conclude at 10:30 a.m., at which point the team will leave town and travel to race on the Occoquan near Washington, D.C. on Sunday, April 6 in a combined meet with George Mason, Georgetown, Bucknell, George Washington and MIT.

Last week the Flyers Varsity and 2nd Varsity 8's ran in their spring opener at Indiana University. The Flyers finished in second in both heats as all other races were cancelled for safety reasons at Lake Lemon in Bloomington, Ind.

Last year in a dual meet against Duquesne, the Flyer s Varsity 8 rowed a time of 5:51.5 defeating the Dukes by more than 23 seconds. Meanwhile, the UD Lightweight looked strong in their opener rowing a time of 6:14.7 to Duquesne's 6:38.9.
