The Boathouse

UD Women's Rowing Team trains out of the Island Park Boathouse located across from Island Park near the Helena Street Bridge. The women's team shares the boathouse, generously provided by FiveRivers MetroParks, with the UD Rowing Club and the Greater Dayton Rowing Association (GDRA). The three-bay boathouse was built by the City of Dayton in 1995 for UD Rowing and GDRA, and provides access to nearly 3000 sheltered meters of the Great Miami River.

Athletic Practice Facility

The UD Women's Rowing team trains in the winter at the Athletics Practice Facility. The refurbished facility benefits more than 350 Flyers student-athletes. By adding the additional practice space, UD teams gain flexibility to train and practice. The improved facilities will, decrease the injuries, lessen travel time for the student-athletes and serve as a great recruiting tool for the Flyers.

Racing Venue

UD hosts sprints at Eastwook Lake MetroPark, a Five Rivers MetroParks managed site. The 1850m buoyed course provides spectacular viewing of the entire race from the finish like area.

Directions: From Interstate 75 (North or South), take Route 4 North (towards Springfield/Columbus) for about 4 miles. Exit Harshman Road and turn right. Take the first right into the Park.
