PHILADELPHIA - The University of Dayton lightweight eight shell won by over five seconds to retain its title at the Dad Vail regatta on Saturday. Dayton, which is ranked eighth in the CRCA Coaches Poll, beat out Villanova and Lehigh in the finals.

Two other boats compete for UD at the Dad Vail on Saturday. Both the varsity eight and lightweight eight advance to their respective semifinals before being eliminated in stiff competition during the largest collegiate regatta in the nation.
