FIFTH PLACE FINISH FOR FLYERS AT A-10 ROWING CHAMPIONSHIP

PHILADELPHIA - The Dayton Flyers competed in the Atlantic 10 Championship race and took fifth place overall with a total of 20 team points. UD women's rowing has gained a fair amount of recognition in recent years due to the success of their Lightweight 8 boat. This boat is always filled with dedicated athletes who show fierce determination on the river. This year's lineup didn't dissapoint. They finished first in their Grand Final with a time of 7:27.3 earning the team six of their twenty points. UD placed third in the Second Varsity 8 grand final with a time of 7:08.3. This race earned them another six team points. In other action, the Novice 4 came in fifth after rowing a time of 8:50.8 in their grand final. The Varsity 8 came in sixth with a time of 7:04.8. Rounding out the action, the UD Varsity 4 Petite won their heat with a time of 8:38.4, while the Novice 8-A Petite came in second against Duquesne with a time of 8:24.2. Massachussets gained 45 points total which put them in first place for the 12th year in a row. This is the longest championship winning streak in the history of the Atlantic 10 Conference.
