FLYER WOMEN PLACE FOURTH AT LADY FALCON INVITE

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's golf team placed fourth Sunday at Bowling Green State University's Lady Falcon Invitational. UD was fifth after Saturday's first round score of 333, but improved 14 strokes on Sunday to end up in fourth with a 36-hole total of 652. The Flyers were six strokes behind third-place Oakland and 11 behind Bowling Green. Western Ontario won the tournament with a 637.

Junior Tiffany Ruhe (Ottawa, OH) placed third in the tournament with rounds of 77 and 79 for a two-round total of 156. Western Ontario's Sue Gleeson (151) and Margaux Ullott (153) were the only golfers ahead of her.

Ruhe was followed by junior Melissa Juve (Akron, OH), who was tied for ninth (81-78-159), sophomore Melissa Gaus (Noblesville, IN), who was 21st (84-81-165) senior Carolyn Fuchs (Louisville, KY), who was tied for 35th (89-83-172) and sophomore Lindsey Grueter (Chardon, OH), who was 45th (91-94-185).

Dayton's next action will be on Monday, October 4 when both the men's and women's teams hold the University of Dayton Fall Invitational. Women's teams from Cincinnati, UD, Oakland and Robert Morris will play on the North Course of NCR Country Club, while the men's teams from UC, UD and Oakland will compete on the south course. The tournament begins at 12 noon EDT.
