Looking to continue an exciting fall campaign, the Dayton Flyers women's golf team embarks on their fourth tournament of the fall at the 2008 Detroit Titans Invitational.

The Titans Invitational will be held on Monday, Oct. 6 and Tuesday, Oct. 7 from the Western Golf & Country Club in Redford, Mich.

Hosted by the University of Detroit Mercy, the Flyers finished in second at last year's Titans Invitational.

Leading the way last year for the Flyers was Katie Gallagher, who finished in a tie for fourth among individuals with rounds of 80 and 81. One stroke behind was Katie Dempsey who added a second round 80 to go with an 82 on day one. Julie Pouliquen also broke into the Top 10 with an eighth place finish.

This season the Flyers have been on track once again. Dempsey leads UD in stroke average at 78.3, followed by junior Paige Smith at 81.0 and Pouliquen at 81.3.

At their last tournament, the IPFW Fall Classic, the Flyers placed in third behind a career-best, second place finish from Dempsey. Dempsey shot a second round 74 to finish the tournament with a 153 total, just one stroke behind the invitational champion.
