WOMEN'S GOLF 12TH AFTER FIRST ROUND OF CARDINAL CLASSIC
Sept. 20, 2005 YORKTOWN, Ind. - Juniors Melissa Gaus and Lindsey Greuter both carded an 82 in leading the University of Dayton women's golf team during the first round of the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State University at The Players Club on Monday. The Flyers are tied for 12th overall with a score of 340 heading into today's final round. Gaus went out in 37 and came back in 45 on the 6,164-yard, par-72 course. Greuter shot 38-44 to tie her junior teammate for the Flyers' low round. Both are currently tied for 41st overall. Sophomore Laura Grande shot an 86, senior Melissa Juve posted a 90 and a 92 from sophomore Mary Kane rounded out the Flyers in the field. Ferris State University leads the tournament with a team score of 303. Butler University and the host Cardinals are tied for second at 304. Xavier University (310) and Grand Valley State University (312) complete the top five. |
