CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Three University of Dayton women's golfers, Katie Dempsey, Clara Ang and Julie Pouliquen were named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Teams for Division I, II and III.

The Dayton trio was a part of 410 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor.

In the Colonial Athletic Association, the Flyers' three NGCA selections are tied with UNC-Wilmington and Xavier for the most in the conference.

Pouliquen led the Flyers in stroke average (82.5) and total rounds (20), while finishing fourth in the best individual round category with a 77. The junior is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and has a cumulative grade point average of 3.76.

Dempsey, a native of Cincinnati, tied for the team lead in total rounds played with 20 and ranked third on the team in stroke average at 83.0. She possesses a 3.58 cumulative GPA and is majoring in Accounting.

Ang enjoyed a solid freshman campaign tying for the team lead in stroke average at 82.5 in 16 rounds of play. The sophomore from Singapore has a 3.96 cumulative GPA, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and earned a perfect 4.0 grade point avergage 2009 Winter Semester.

The University of Dayton Division of Athletics has traditionally been one of top academic performers in the nation. In May the NCAA announced four Flyer teams, including the women's golf program, had a perfect score of 1,000 in the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) reports.

Also as a team the Flyers showcase a cumulative GPA of 3.421 with sevenmembers on the Dean's List.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Dayton will return all 10 players from last year's squad and have four seniors on the roster.
