As one of eight freshmen on the Dayton Flyers, Sarah Burpo looks to contribute on-and-off the course.

During the fall Burpo participated in the Butler Invitational in her first collegiate tournament. In addition, Burpo achieved a grade point average above a 3.5 during either the fall 2006 term.

Q&A with Sarah Burpo
What is your favorite restaurant and why?
I love food, right now I'm going to say the Cheesecake Factory because cheesecake is one of my favorites. A close second is obviously the Crestaurant!!!

What one word of advice would you give to an incoming freshman?
Take it very slow first semester with all activities and also with academics. There will be plenty of time to do all that you want later.

What song would you karaoke to?
"A Light in Your Eyes" - Blessed Union of Souls

When you stand over a putt, what is the last thing that goes through your mind?
Relax

When you notice someone watching you from the gallery, how do you feel?
Slightly nervous, especially if they have a camera.

If you were a person from history, who would you be and why?
Joan of Arc because she changed the world, was the strongest woman I've ever heard of, and spoke French.

What do you think is the biggest issue facing mankind today?
Loss of traditional cultures of the world.

What can you do to change the direction of the biggest problem facing mankind?
Help preserve those cultures by spreading awareness of their beauty and the importance of diversity in the world.

What is your favorite book?
Too many to choose from but I really love Harry Potter.

Who is your favorite character in a movie, book, or TV show, and why?
Keira Knightley from Pirates of the Caribbean...she gets to be rich, a pirate, she's beautiful and kisses both Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom!

What piece of clothing has been the most useful to you in college?
Sweatpants

When you sing alone, what song do you sing?
"Drops of Jupiter" - Train

What is your favorite thing to shop for?
Probably shoes, or sweaters, or sweatpants. I like to shop, when I have money.

What surprised you the most about college?
That even though I didn't come here knowing a soul it was still easy to make friends....and they are the best friends I've ever had!
