    KETTERING, Ohio - Freshman Clara Ang shot a second round 85 to help the Dayton Flyers finish in sixth at the 2008 UD Fall Invitational.

    Ang rebounded from an 87 in round one and finished the invitational tied for 15th overall.

    The Toledo Rockets won the tournament by six strokes thanks to two golfers tying for second among individuals. Eastern Illinois came in second followed by Oakland in third, Detroit in fourth and Butler in fifth.

    The two Flyer squads finished in sixth and seventh respectively with IPFW, IUPUI and Tennessee State rounding out the scoring.

    Freshman Heather Grant was one stroke behind Ang overall and finished in a tie for 19th. Grant capitalized on a first round 85 with an 88 in round two.

    Junior Katie Gallagher tied for 23rd after shooting a 93 in round two. Gallagher finished with a 175 tournament total.

    Another junior, Cari DeAngelis, rebounded from an 89 in round one to card an 87 in the second round and finished just one stroke behind Gallagher overall.

    Junior Paige Smith shot rounds of 89 and 91 to finish in 29th while freshman Julie Pouliquen responded with an 87 in the second round and placed in 30th among individuals.

    Junior Casey Peterson came back from a 91 in round one to shoot an 89 in round two. Peterson completed the tournament tied for 31st overall. Junior Katie Dempsey shot a 92 in round two and placed in a tie for 36th among individuals.

    Sophomore Ellen Ciacchini had a 95 in round two, while freshman Heather Jorgensen shot a 95 to finish in a tie for 43rd and 46th respectively. Sophomore Megan Keating shot a 96 in round two and finished in 47th overall.

    The UD Fall Invitational completes the 2008 fall campaign for the Flyers. UD will begin the spring season in March.
