DEANGELIS' 82 HELPS FLYERS PLACE IN 6TH AFTER ROUND ONE OF THE UD FALL INVITE

KETTERING, Ohio - Senior Cari DeAngelis shot an 82 to lead the University of Dayton Flyers after round one of the 2009 UD Fall Invitational. DeAngelis finished day one in a tie for 13th among individuals as she shot a 42 on the front nine and a 40 in the back. Not far behind was senior Katie Gallagher who tallied an 83 in round one. Gallagher was similar to DeAngelis tallying a 43 on the front nine and a 40 in the back. Dayton's A Team placed in sixth with a team score of 335. The Dayton B squad shot a 345 and was in ninth after the first round. The other finishers on the Dayton A team included scores of 85 from senior Paige Smith and junior Julie Pouliquen. Sophomore Clara Ang tallied an 86 to round out the team scoring. Leading the way for the Dayton B squad was sophomore Heather Jorgensen who tallied a first round 85. Freshman Kelly Coakley carded an 86, as well as senior Katie Dempsey. Freshman Cheryl Ang shot an 88, while junior Megan Keating chipped in with an 89. The second and final round of the women's UD Fall Invitational will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 19 from the NCR North Course. |
