DAYTON PLACES IN 10TH AFTER FINAL ROUND OF CAA CHAMPIONSHIP
April 22, 2007 HOT SPRINGS, Va. - The Dayton Flyers concluded the 2007 spring season finishing in 10th at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. UD shot a third round score of 343 at The Homestead Old Course. Senior Melissa Gaus led Flyers shooting an 85 in round three. She finished the tournament in 46th after shooting a total score of 266. Classmate Lindsey Greuter also enjoyed a solid final round tallying an 86 on Sunday. Greuter improved with each round of the tournament shooting scores of 90, 88 and 86 en route to a 44th place finish. Leading the way overall for Dayton was freshman Katie Dempsey who shot a final round 86. Dempsey finished the tournament tied for 37th with a three round score of 252. Firing an 86 as well was freshman Casey Peterson. She finished the championship with a total score of 260, good for 43rd. Rounding out the Flyers was freshman Katie Gallagher who also improved her scores in each round of the championship. After shooting a 93 on Friday and an 89 on Saturday, Gallagher tallied a final round of 88. The CAA Championship concludes the 2006-07 season for the Flyers. It's also the final event for seniors Gaus and Greuter in their UD careers. |
