HOT SPRINGS, Va. - The Dayton Flyers got off to a slow start after round one of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship after shooting a total score of 360.

UD placed in 10th out of 10 squads after day one of the three day tournament.

Freshman Katie Dempsey led UD after shooting an 87 in round one. Playing on a par 72, 6,000 yard course, Dempsey finished the day tied for 36th.

Senior Lindsey Greuter and freshman Casey Peterson followed after each shot scores of 90 after day one, good for a tie for 46th. Greuter shot a 45 in the front and back nine, while Peterson started off well with a 43 on the front nine.

In a tie for 48th was senior Melissa Gaus and freshman Katie Gallagher who each shot a 93. Gaus started off the day with a 44 on the front nine, while Gallagher shot a 45 and 48 in her first day of the tournament.

Round two of the CAA Championship will take place on Saturday, April 21.
