HOT SPRINGS, Va. - The University of Dayton women's golf team sits in sixth place heading into Sunday's final round of the 2005 Colonial Athletic Association Golf Championship at The Old Course at Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Va. Melissa Juve and Carolyn Fuchs are tied for the Flyers' lead with a pair of 172 scores after the first two rounds.

Juve opened with an 87 Friday, but battled through brutal weather Saturday at the 6,000-yard, par-72 course to post an 85 Saturday. The round was delayed nearly 30 minutes for frost on the course and impacted by extremely windy conditions all day. The par-5 third hole, for example, played at a 7.00 stroke average for the day and saw 12 players card a triple bogey or worse.

Fuchs was UD's leader after Friday's play with an 82, but struggled in the wind Saturday and posted a 90. Jennifer Edgin trailed her by just two strokes Friday, opening up with an 84 and followed it Saturday with an 89. Edgin sits 28th overall at 173.

Tiffany Ruhe is 30th with a 175 (88-87) and Melissa Gaus is 39th with a 200 (97-103).

James Madison began play Friday with the third-lowest, single-day score in the opening round (304) and posted a 316 Saturday to lead by seven strokes over Richmond in the eigth-team field.

Sunday's final round is set to begin at 8:30 am with the team champion receiving an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.
