Perry Park, Ky. - Behind back-to-back strong rounds from freshman Katie Dempsey, the Dayton Flyers finished in 12th at the Northern Kentucky Invitational.

Dempsey fired a 79 in round one and a 78 in the second to finish tied for 23rd at the tournament.

Right behind Dempsey in second on the team was freshman Casey Peterson. Peterson shot an 82 in round one and an 83 in the second to finish tied for 48th overall.

Placing in third on the team for the Flyers was freshman Paige Smith who shot an 86 and 87 in her two rounds. Freshman Elaine English tied for 71st overall shooting an 88 in round one and an 86 in the second.

Rounding out the scoring for the Flyers was junior Mary Kane who rebounded from an opening round 91 to shoot an 88 in the second round.

As a team, UD shot 335 in round one and a 334 in the second for a combined score of 669. Last year the Flyers finished in 15th out of 17 teams at the invitational.

The Flyers continue their road swing on Monday, March 26 at the Bellarmine Women's Invitational.
