DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team, fresh off a 1-1 weekend at the Buckeye Classic, will near the end of its nine-game road stretch when the team visits the Cincinnati Bearcats on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The Flyers are fresh off a loss to No. 20/21 Ohio State on Sunday in the championship game of the Buckeye Classic. Dayton put a big scare in the 20th-ranked Ohio State as the game was tied at half and the Flyers led by 10 points at one point in the second before the Buckeyes turned up the pressure and eventually closed out the win, 76-61.

Although UD is 4-3 on the year, all of the team's losses have been to nationally-ranked opponents including No. 13 Texas, No. 25 Old Dominion and No. 20 Ohio State.

The Flyers are led by sophomore Kristin Daugherty and freshman Justine Raterman. Daugherty averages 16.4 points a game, and Raterman 13.7. Raterman also leads in rebounding (10.3 rpg) and was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the third-straight week on Monday after an impressive weekend in the classic.

Raterman was named to the Buckeye Classic All-Tournament Team carrying the Flyers with her third double-double of the season on Saturday afternoon in Dayton's win over Central Michigan (78-76). She scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the game to go along with three blocks. She went 6-of-10 overall from three-point range and averaged 17.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game on the weekend.

Junior Kendel Ross joined Raterman on Saturday also tallying her third double-double of the season. Ross scored a career-high 27 points and pulled down 13 rebounds versus Central Michigan. She is UD's second-leading rebounder (8.1 rpg) and third-leading scorer (12.0 ppg).

SCOUTING CINCINNATI
Cincinnati is 5-1 under head coach J. Kelley Hall after three-straight wins at home in the Courtyard Marriott Florence Thanksgiving Classic. The`Cats are led by junior Kahla Roudebush who is averaging 14.0 ppg and senior Jill Stephens who is averaging 10.8 ppg.

SERIES STUFF
Cincinnati leads the series 23-22, and has won seven of the last eight meetings; however UD won (69-53) the last outing at home on November 29, 2007. The last time the Flyers defeated Cincinnati on its home court was January 13, 1995 when Dayton won 60-56.

NEXT UP
After Cincinnati, Dayton will close out its season-opening road stretch on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Penn State. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET. UD will return home to open its home portion of the schedule with Miami on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 12 p.m. ET.
