DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will continue its season-opening road stretch with the Buckeye Classic this weekend. The Flyers will take on Central Michigan Saturday, Nov. 29 in the first round of the tournament hosted by Ohio State. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET at St. John Arena.

The consolation and championship games will take place Sunday, Nov. 30 and are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET and 2 p.m. ET, respectively. The championship game will be aired on the Big Ten Network.

The Flyers (3-2) are coming off their third-straight win on Tuesday versus Navy (64-58) in overtime. Junior Kendel Ross earned her second double-double of the season with 12 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. Freshmen Kayla Moses and Casey Nance both earned career-highs in the game with 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Kristin Daugherty is leading Dayton with 17.8 ppg; she's also third in the conference in scoring. Sharing weekly conference honors with Daugherty is rookie Flyer Justine Raterman who earned the honor for the second week in a row. Raterman leads the team in rebounding (10.8 rpg) and steals (1.4 spg) and is second in scoring (12.4 ppg).

SERIES STUFF
Central Michigan leads the series 2-4. The last game between the two schools was held on December 30, 2007 in the Dayton Flyer Classic. The Flyers, who have won the last two meetings, defeated CMU 86-71 at UD Arena.

SCOUTING CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Chippewas are 3-1 on the season and are coming off a win at home versus Valparaiso on Nov. 25 (80-86) after picking up their first loss of the season on the road at Georgetown (77-82) on Nov. 22.

CMU has four players averaging double-digit scoring including Brandie Baker (12.5 ppg), Angela Chan (12.8 ppg), Britni Houghton (19.8 ppg), and Kaihla Szunko (13.5 ppg).

Central Michigan is coached by Sue Guevara who is in her second season as head coach with a 8-23 record. Guevara owns a 123-82 overall record in nine seasons as a head coach.
