FLYERS FACE NO. 13 TEXAS IN OPENING ROUND OF WORLD VISION CLASSIC

Fans can follow the action through Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com. UD will face Texas, Old Dominion, and St. Mary's (California) at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas in a round-robin tournament. Dayton begins the season on the road in game one of nine-straight road contests before opening up the home portion of the schedule on Dec. 10 versus local rival Miami. The Flyers are coming of a 73-51 exhibition victory versus the Ohio Legends on Nov. 6. Four Flyers scored in double-figures as sophomore Kristin Daugherty chipped in with a game-high 17 points, junior Kendel Ross added 16 and freshmen Patrice Lalor and De'Sarae Chambers totaled 11 a piece. Dayton connected on 30-of-64 field goal tries as the Flyers defense forced 26 turnovers, recorded 15 steals, and scored 15 points off turnovers in the game. SCOUTING TEXAS Texas defeated the Houston Jaguars 86-45 in exhibition action on Nov. 9. Raven posted a game-high 17 points and Lindsey tallied the ninth double-double of her career with 12 points and 10 rebounds as Texas shot 41.7 (15-of-36) percent from the field. Head Coach Gail Goestenkors is in her second season at the helm of the Longhorns, 17th season overall. Fans can watch the Flyers battle the Longhorns with video streaming through Texas' website at www.TexasSports.com. SCOUTING OLD DOMINION ODU amassed an impressive 31-5 overall record last season and were the Colonial Athletic Association regular season and tournament champions suffering only one loss in league play (17-1). Old Dominion returns eight letterwinners, including two starters from a squad that advanced to the NCAA "Sweet 16" last year. Returning starters Tiffany Green and Jazzmin Walters, both seniors, averaged 11.4 and 7.5 ppg, respectively last season. Green went 5-of-6 from the floor and 7-of-9 from the stripe to lead Old Dominion with 17 points versus University of D.C. Junior Jessica Canady's 22 points led the Monarchs in the route of Shaw on Nov. 10. The Monarchs are coached by Wendy Larry who is in her 22nd season. Larry holds a 503-165 record at ODU and a 552-196 record overall. Dayton will take on Old Dominion on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 5:00 p.m. ET. SCOUTING ST. MARY'S Last year, Smith averaged 17.3 points per game in conference play and shot an impressive 38.8 percent (84-of-198) from the floor during the regular season. Tomlinson averaged 13.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.85 blocks per game in WCC competitions. The Gaels went 2-0 in the preseason, picking up wins against Showtime Basketball (100-74) and San Francisco State (86-74). The team is coached by Paul Thomas, who is in his third season with the Gaels. Thomas holds a 29-31 record in two seasons at SMC. He is in 17th season overall (265-189).
