EUROPEAN JOURNAL DAY 7: WELCOME TO VIENNA
Aug. 12, 2005 VIENNA, Austria - The Dayton women's basketball team made its way from Slovakia and headed south to Austria Friday for its final stop on its 10-day tour of Europe. UD spent the morning in Bratislava before traveling to Vienna and touring Schonbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburg family. The palace was built in 1696 and was host to a concert by a six-year old Mozart while also serving as a residence for Maria Theresa and Marie Antoniette. The Flyers look to improve their record to 3-1 on the trip Saturday as they take on Herzogenberg BBC. Dayton has had four players reached double figures in scoring during each of its last two games, both UD victories. Fans can follow the trip at www.DaytonFlyers.com with player journals on the UD European Trip page. To view the trip page, click here. |
