University of Dayton forward Cara Wright was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 Thursday. The junior is second in the Atlantic 10 Conference in field goal percentage at .544, fourth in rebounding with 8.4 per game and 15th in scoring with 12.2 points per game. Nine of her 12 double-doubles have come in league play and she is ninth in scoring (13.9 PPG) and third in rebounding (8.8 RPG) in Atlantic 10 games.

After sitting out last season following a transfer from Arkansas, Wright opened the season with back-to-back double-doubles. She was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for December 12-19 after hauling in a career-high 20 rebounds against Detroit and scored 14 points for her fourth double-double of the season.

Against No. 10 Ohio State, Wright set a then career-high 16 points and 13 rebounds. She set a new career-high in points with 19 points against No. 5 Notre Dame five days later. She shot 12-of-14 from the field for a career-high 29 points to go with 11 rebounds in UD's win at Saint Joseph's, and she was named A-10 Player of the Week again for February 13-19 after posting 27 points versus La Salle with 13 rebounds, and 22 points and 11 boards at Duquesne.

Wright leads the Flyers into Friday's first round game of the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship against Fordham at 4:00 p.m. Dayton (12-15; 6-10 A-10) is the fifth seed in the West, while Fordham (9-20; 5-11 A-10) grabbed the fourth seed in the East. Dayton won the previous match-up, 63-50, in the Bronx on January 23.
