CLOXTON NAMED TO ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT SECOND TEAM

DAYTON, Ohio - Senior Karah Cloxton was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon. The senior guard has the highest GPA on the women's basketball team with a 4.0 and is a member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Cloxton, an exercise science and fitness management major, will attend medical school with goals of becoming an orthopedic surgeon after graduation. In addition to her skills in the classroom, Cloxton also boasts an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.30 this season, which is the best ever in UD single-season history and is second in the Atlantic 10 Conference and ninth in the nation. She has also dished out 4.3 assists per game to rank third in the A-10. The native of Winfield, WV has posted a career-high 99 assists so far this season. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 on a scale of 4.00. |
