DAYTON, Ohio - Dayton led from the opening tip to the final buzzer in a 76-62 victory over Tennessee-Martin on Tuesday at UD Arena. It was the fourth-straight win for the Flyers (6-2) who continued their longest winning streak since the 2003 season.

With the win, Dayton improved to 4-0 at UD Arena this season and won their fourth-straight game overall for the first time since the Flyers won six consecutive games from Nov. 30 to Dec. 17, 2003. Tennessee-Martin fell to 3-5 on the season.

"I think we are improving as a team and I like the way our kids held together and played as a unit," UD Head Coach Jim Jabir said. "I think we are understanding the things we need to do to be a good team."

The Flyer trio of Jennifer Strong, Kiki Lund and Cara Wright reached double figures in scoring. Strong tallied 12 points on 5-for-12 shooting from the field including two three pointers. Lund finished with 11 points while hitting 3-of-4 shots from behind arc while Wright added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Amber Peterink led a group of three Dayton players that surpassed or matched their season-highs in scoring on the night. Peterink finished with nine points on 4-for-5 shooting from the field. Angela Cape and Nikki Oakland each matched their season-bests with seven points apiece.

"Tonight was a balanced effort, which is a good sign," Jabir commented. "We played everybody. If we can score 76 points and play everybody then I am happy with that. We don't have egos and we don't have to score. We just need to play hard and play together."

The Flyers began the game on a 15-4 run over the first 5:42 behind four points from Wright, three-point baskets by Strong, Lund and Armstrong as well as a layup by Cape. Then Oakland followed with three straight layups to put Dayton ahead by 15 with 11:47 left in the opening half. From there the Skyhawks would get as close as 10, but back-to-back baskets by Amber Peterink ignited a Flyer run that put UD ahead 42-26 heading into the locker room.

Dayton out shot Tennessee-Martin 55.2 percent to 35.5 percent from the field. UD also hit on 5-of-13 shots (38.5 percent) from behind the arc and had 11 assists on 16 of its baskets. Peterink and Oakland led the way with seven points each for the Flyers. Strong and Wright finished with six points a piece in the first 20 minutes.

The Flyers continued their dominance in the second half with a team effort. Dayton did not put a player into double figures until Strong hit a free-throw line jumper with 12:22 remaining in the game. Overall, 11 of the 12 Flyers that appeared in the game scored as Dayton secured its second highest scoring output of the season.

UD remains home to face Cincinnati on Thursday at 5 p.m. ET in its final game before the Christmas holiday.
