CHICAGO - Kiki Lund tallied a career-high 20 points on 6-for-6 shooting from three-point range as Dayton beat Loyola-Chicago 80-57 in non-conference women's basketball action on Tuesday night at the Joseph J. Gentile Center.

UD improved to 2-1 overall on the year after hitting on 31-of-63 (49.2 percent) shots from the field including 8-of-13 from three-point range.

Lund, a 5-11 sophomore guard fron Aarhus, Denmark, made 7-of-11 shots overall on the night while also dishing out four assists in 28 minutes of action. She also matched the school record for most three-point field goals made without a miss (6-for-6), which was originally set by Victoria Jones on Nov. 25, 2000.

"I was very proud of the way we executed on both ends of the court tonight," UD Head Coach Jim Jabir said. "When we execute, run hard and play fast, we will get open looks for players like Kiki and she stepped up tonight in a big way."

The duo of senior Cara Wright and junior Jennifer Strong each finished with nine points while Brittany Holterman added seven points and a team-high seven rebounds as the Flyers led from start to finish.

Sophomore Karah Cloxton had a career-best six assists as Dayton had 22 assists and just 17 turnovers. The Flyer defense forced 32 Rambler turnovers and surrendered just 12 assists.

UD opened on an 11-4 run behind three treys from Lund in the first 6:33. The Flyers held Loyola to just 2-of-9 shooting to start the game and held the Ramblers' leading scorer, Marquise Hanser, without a basket for the first 11 minutes of the game to build a 15-10 lead.

Dayton stretched its lead to 16 on a layup by Cape with six minutes left. Loyola would counter back with six straight points, but UD maintained a double-digit advantage for the remainder of the half and took a 39-25 lead into the locker room at intermission.

Lund led all players with 14 first-half points on 4-for-4 shooting from behind the arc. She was followed by nine points by Strong while the duo dished out four and three assists respectively as UD connected on 16-of-33 shots (48.5 percent) in the first 20 minutes including 6-of-10 from three-point range.

The Ramblers closed to within 10 on two different occasions in the second half by hitting five of its first seven shots from the field. However, Loyola would get no closer as UD forced LU into committing seven turnovers in the first six minutes and 18 overall in the half.

Freshman Marie Rosche made her collegiate debut and played the final 2:31 of the game. She scored her first collegiate basket at the 2:13 mark on a jump shot from the right baseline, which closed out UD's scoring on the night in an 80-57 victory.

After playing games on back-to-back days, UD will take an eight-day break to prepare for #4/4 Ohio State. The Flyers will face the Buckeyes on Wed., Nov. 30 in Columbus, Ohio at 7 p.m. ET.
