DAYTON, Ohio - Despite a 24-point, 11-rebound effort from Cara Wright on Senior Night, Dayton fell to Duquesne, 70-55, in Atlantic 10 Conference action on Friday at UD Arena.

Wright reached the 20-point plateau for the seventh time this season while also recording her conference leading 14th double-double of the season. The senior forward shot 11-of-14 from the field for the Flyers (16-10, 8-7 A-10) who remained in sole possession of sixth place in the A-10 standings ahead of Massachusetts, La Salle and Richmond that are each 7-8 in conference play.

Also on Senior Day, the trio of Angela Cape, Terri Ramsey and Lyndsey DeWitt each scored for Dayton in their final game at UD Arena. Cape scored six points on the strength of 4-for-6 shooting from the free throw line. Ramsey tallied four points, four rebounds and three assists while DeWitt scored four points of her own.

Sophomore Karah Cloxton dished out at least five assists for the third time in the last four games while classmate Brittany Holterman had five points and three rebounds on the night.

The Flyers fell behind by as many as 16 in the first half and were behind 36-23 at halftime after 14 turnovers led to 17 for the Dukes. Duquesne also out shot Dayton 50 percent to 37 percent from the field despite 13 points and eight rebounds from Wright.

Duquesne kept the pressure on in the second half as Dayton never closed within single digits. The Dukes continued their hot shooting by also making half of their shots in the second half (12-of-24) from the field which overcame a 47.8 percent (11-for-23) effort from the Flyers which resulted in just a two-point deficit in second half scoring.
