DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team saw its longest conference winning streak since joining the Atlantic 10 snapped on Wednesday at UD Arena in a last second 68-66 loss to the Richmond Spiders.

The Spiders' Johanna McKnight hit the buzzer-beater after a missed three-point attempt from fellow teammate Christina Campion, propelling Richmond over the Dayton in dramatic fashion.

UD falls to 21-6 and 7-4 with the loss, while Richmond improves to 13-13 on the year, 6-5 in the A-10.

Nikki Oakland paced the Flyers knocking down 20 points and grabbing six rebounds on the night. Brittany Holterman also helped the Flyers, scoring 15 points and tallying four boards of her own. The senior forward has scored in double-figures sixteen times this season.

The Spiders were led with a team-high 27 point performance from Johanna McKnight, including the game winning shot with under a second left. McKnight also grabbed nine rebounds in 33 minutes played.

Crystal Goring had a double-double in the game netting 18 points, also adding 10 rebounds.

The Flyers led first scoring with a layup by Kristin Daugherty. Richmond quickly rebounded dropping its own bucket. Dayton worked the ball down low scoring ten straight points in the paint to open up the game 8-6.

Poised with a 12-8 lead, UD fired up after a pass from Karah Cloxton out to Ross for the three. Moments later, Kiki Lund hit another trey to put the Flyers up by 10.

The Spiders crawled their way back into the mix with five points by McKnight and Katie Holzer, slicing the deficit, 22-18.

Lund hit another three to reignite the offense for the Flyers, leading UD to a 7-0 run and a 29-18 advantage.

Goring and company tried to fight their way back into the game once more with a 10-2 run pulling the Spiders within three, 31-28. Dayton led at the half, but by a slim margin of 34-32.

The Spiders opened up the scoring in the second half, netting the first four points of the frame.

Oakland converted on Dayton's first three field goals of the half. Following suit, Holterman layed-it-up for two and drew the foul to move the score to 43-38.

The Flyers continued their 13-2 run after Ashley Armstrong and Holterman hit all of their foul shots.

The Spiders kept pushing eventually pulling within one point on a long distance three-pointer by McKnight with 6:35 left in the game.

After trading shots over the course of four minutes, the Spiders knotted it up on another three from McKnight.

With 54 seconds left the Spiders' McKnight took an offensive foul turning the ball over to Dayton. Moments later, Oakland would also take an offensive foul ending her night with five fouls.

With four seconds left, Campion missed a three-point shot only to be rebounded by McKnight who put it back up at the buzzer for the win, 68-66.
