Dayton Head Coach Jim Jabir

In regards to the first few minutes of play:
"It would be nice if we could play like that offensively more often, but that's not always going to happen. I worried our defense would give us problems at times, and it did."

"We drilled not bringing the ball to the side line, but that's where it ended up. I didn't like our intensity or the transition offensively. We missed lay-ups. We missed defensive assignments. We were sloppy. There are a lot of things we need to work on."

On Kristin Daugherty's Three's:
"She was great, but I think that sometimes it is a false sense of security. You make a couple three's and are up big and you think you are doing everything right, and we weren't. She did hit some shots and did some good things, and it's nice to have that. You know, if she wants to do that every game... it's okay with me."

On the season high 2,325 attendance:
"You know, when I took this job I thought that Dayton was a great basketball town. I thought we would get some good crowds and that people would come. And now, they're starting to come. So I'm really happy for us, and I invite them back and invite them to bring some more friends because we are getting better and we are going to make this happen."

On Richmond:
"Richmond is a very big, very physical team. They have some great guard play, they're balanced and they present some challenges. Different challenges than tonight."

Freshman Kristin Daugherty

"They were a very aggressive and physical team. We wanted to come out and set the tempo. I think coming out and being able to put those shots away gave us the lead and we were able to sustain it the whole game."

"It's very important we come to practice everyday ready to work hard and focus on the little things like boxing out, playing defense and just getting better. We want to stay in that 4th place. 21 wins...it's great!"

On her personal performance in the past few games:
"I didn't feel like I was playing my best. So I got in the gym with coach and we were shooting around, just kind of worked a little harder and I feel like I'm getting back into the flow of things."

On her four consecutive three-point baskets:
"It's a good feeling. My teammates were hitting me with the passes; I was open and was able to knock some shots down. We (Kiki Lund and Daugherty) are always going to miss the shots we don't take, so we both just encourage each other and keep shooting."

On the game as a whole:
"It was not the prettiest. We got a little sloppy with their pressure. We just needed to take care of the ball and I think it would have been a lot more fun of a game for everyone to watch. We struggled through until the end, but a win is certainly better than a loss."
