DAYTON, Ohio - The Dayton Flyer women's basketball team rode a pair of career-high performances to a 77-60 victory over Atlantic 10 Conference rival Duquesne in front of 2,113 fans at UD Arena on Sunday. Junior Kiki Lund drilled a career-high tying six consecutive three-point baskets and classmate Kathy Guin dished out a career-best nine assists as the Flyers (8-13, 3-3 A-10) won for the third time in their last four games.

Lund made her first six three-point baskets, including five in the first half, before finishing 6-for-7 from long range to score 18 points. The junior guard finished with the second most three pointers in a single game of any Atlantic 10 player this season and tied for the fifth best single-game percentage (.857) in the nation. Lund also collected four rebounds and dished out three assists while the Flyers hit on 11-of-23 shots from beyond the arc to finish one shy of the school record for treys in a game.

Guin dished out a career-high nine assists to finish with the most helpers in a single game by a Flyer this season. The nine assists overall are the second most by any Atlantic 10 player in a single game this season. She had eight of her nine assists in the first half, which is also one shy of the most in UD history for a half. Overall, the Flyers finished with season-high tying 23 assists on their 28 baskets.

Junior Brittany Holterman had her second career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for Dayton, which was playing in front of its largest single-game crowd at home this season. She hit 5-of-8 shots from the field while collecting five offensive rebounds and two assists.

Senior Jennifer Strong and junior Nikki Oakland rounded out a group of four Flyers to reach double figures in scoring. Strong connected on 7-of-16 shots from the field to finish with 16 points while Oakland had 13 points and three assists.

Duquesne (7-12, 2-4 A-10) had three players with 13 points or more including a team-high 18 from Loui Hall, but the Flyers out shot the Dukes, 44.4 percent to 36.1 percent from the field. The visitors were also held to just three made baskets from beyond the arc and Dayton had a 48-29 lead in rebounding as well as a 13-4 advantage in fast break points.

UD started the game on an 8-2 run behind a strong effort from beyond the arc. After a layup by Duquesne's Jocelyn Chandler, Dayton scored the next eight points on back-to-back three pointers by Jennifer Strong and Kiki Lund and then a lay-up by Brittany Holterman with 17:18 left. Dayton was hot from long range in the first half making 5-of-6 three-point shots in the first 10 minutes of the game.

After Duquesne knotted the score at 13-all with 13:17 left in the first, Dayton used another surge to take a 10 point lead just under eight minutes later. Jennifer Strong started the charge with a jumper at the 11:01 mark. She was followed by a layup from Brittany Holterman, a three-pointer by Kendel Ross and a back-to-back layups fron Kelly Keil and Amber Peterink as UD pulled ahead 30-20 with 5:23 left in the first half.

Dayton took a 44-32 lead into the break behind 5-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc by Kiki Lund and a 23-15 edge in rebounding. Kathy Guin dished out eight first-half assists and Jennifer Strong added seven points as the Flyers were shooting 17-for-36 from the field overall.

The second half began with Kiki Lund hitting her sixth-straight three pointer of the game from the left wing at the 19:28 mark, Duquesne closed the gap to seven to make it a 53-46 game on a layup by Jocelyn Chandler at the 13:15 mark.

Dayton answered back with a 14-3 run over the next 7:04 to build its largest lead of the game at 67-49 with 6:11 left. The Flyers caught fire during the run which included a layup off an offensive rebound and touch pass by Karah Cloxton for her fourth assist of the day.

The Dukes would pull to within 10 with 3:12 left, but Nikki Oakland was 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final 2:25 of the game while also adding a fast break layup and Jennifer Strong added the 11th three-pointer of the game for the Flyers as UD rolled to a 17-point win, 77-60.

Dayton returns to action on the road this weekend with a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference games. UD travels to St. Bonaventure on Friday (7 p.m. ET) and Temple on Sunday (2:30 p.m. ET).
