TERRY RAMSEY'S JOURNALS

Day 9 - Vienna

Good morning sunshine! We woke up and went to an amusement park. It was tubular. First we rode a ferris wheel where we viewed the entire city of Vienna it was phenomenal. The team then split up and rode many different rides. Karah Cloxton even got sick on one of the rides, but not too bad! Jennifer Strong thought she was superwoman (which she clearly isn't). The haunted house was the best. I've never seen anyone as scared as Ashley Armstrong.

We proceeded to our game, which we won by about 50 points. The other team wasn't the best, but the game gave us a chance to practice our new offense. Dinner was good, but "J" got us in trouble by spinning in her chair into the wall.

Well our trip is over and it's kind of sad, but I think that most of us are ready to head back to the mainland to use cell phones, the internet and all the other perks of our American lives. This was a great experience and I can't wait to see all of our fans at the games coming up this season.

Time to pack and call it a night!

P.S. - Thank you UD!

Day 8 - Vienna

Wake up call was at 9 a.m. (Yes! We got to sleep in a bit!) Breakfast was okay. The glasses of juice were little (I felt like a giant). Our day was very laid back, but with lots of shopping downtown. I love shopping...It's like my second favorite sport. Shoes were the theme of the day. Ashley Armstrong brought three pairs...whoa baby. She got it done today. Pre game meal was on our own and since we are so healthy. We ate either McDonald's or ate pizza. What I loved the most was the ice cream...mmm...yummy to my tummy. It was better than ColdStone! I would know because my major is food tasting.

After shopping it was game time. We traveled about an hour. WE WON!! Yes we are winners again! Dinner was great. We went to a food festival (just my fantasy!) We got all the food we could eat and chose from American, Portguese and Croatian dishes. I don't know about everyone else, but I ate until I was going to pop. FOOD IS GREAT!!

Well, back to the mainland Monday. Can't wait to see McDonald's, Burger King, and Jimmy John's with English menus again. Time to get some shut-eye. Good nite!

P.S. - Miss ya Mom, Dad and Bizel!

Day 7 - Vienna
Authored by Brittany Holterman and Jennifer Tisza

We had another extravagant breakfast before heading out to shop in Bratislava. Most of us ate some Pizza Hut or McDonald's for lunch. We just needed some food that was considered more normal to us. Then we left for Vienna.

The first thing we toured was the "summer house" of the Habsburgs. It was the biggest summer house that we've ever seen. There was like a million rooms. The ballroom was by far our favorite.

After the place we went to a very nice Austrian restaurant. It was the most amazing restaurant ever! We felt very European. This trip has been an awesome bonding experience for our entire team. Over dinner we shared our most embarrassing moments and other funny stories. Today was Coach Jabir's birthday so we sang to him about 20 times. Now we are all chillin' at the hotel about to fall asleep. Oh and we went swimming in the really small pool at the hotel and Amber wanted to do a cannonball! So when she jumped in we got yelled at!

Okay, I guess it's time for bed then!

P.S. - I love Wisconsin and PC too!

Day 6 - Bratislava

Good morning Bratislava! Life couldn't get any better - a beautiful hotel, internet and AOL IM (Score !!) Yeah...I guess we are more spoiled then we realized. Again we walked up a hill for at least a mile to see a castle. We did walking lunges on our way up the there (take that D Shap!) We also went to a cathedral just like the one from SUPERSTAR (the movie). Several Hungarian Kings were crowned there.

We traveled to our game and it took a long time to get there. Good thing we won or otherwise I would have been disappointed. There was this ginormous girl that made Jen Tisza look like a Keebler Elf. She must have been 6'8". Whoa Mama! The last three minutes of the game were interesting because they had to play with just four players because of foul outs. I was confused on defense and they still managed to sneak in one layup (Darn it!)

After the game we ate Slovak pizza and if you could have seen the toppings you would have been amazed. However, it was very tasty. Now were on our way back to the hotel on our Mercedes bus. Later Jane (our Slovak friend and tour guide) will be showing us the disco and hopefully some Slovak dance moves!

Peace out!

Day 5 - Bratislava
Authored by Ashley Armstrong, Ashley Kavanaugh and Brittany Holterman

After a hot night on the town with our new friends in Strakonice, it was a struggle to wake up to Angela's knock on the door at 8 a.m. Breakfast was the traditional deli meat and cheeses. A long day of travel followed. We pit stopped many times and had much difficulty with the seemingly simple task of buying snacks. We slept and listened to ipods most of the way.

Lunch was at an outlet mall's buffet restaurant. We then had a brief shopping spree before boarding the bus. Shortly after we arrived at the brand spanking new Crowne Plaza in Bratislava. It's awesome.

We Americanized for dinner at McDonald's. Tonight most of us will shower in the contemporary bathroom and then lounge in our oversized robes.

Miss ya all at home!

Day 4 - Strakonice

Today I woke up and thought...WOW what a beautiful morning. I looked outside and saw spectacular buildings. The Hilton was great. I had breakfast with Kiki, Cara and "J". The reality struck when we left the Prague Hilton and ended up in Strakonice. The hotel is definitely not a Hilton, but it has a nice shower and is similar to a dorm room. However, the food was better than at the Hilton.

After we arrived we played the Strakonice team. We won...YEAH!! Chalk one up for us. As we were warming up I looked in the bleachers and saw Kiki's mom jamming to the music. Very cute!! We had dinner with the other team and they were extremely nice. It was weird because before the game we gave then Dayton Flyer wristbands and they actually liked them! They said that they were looking on ebay for them, but they were too expensive.

Now I am in Kiki and Cara's room. If you saw this pig sty you would be disgusted. Kiki has her smelly clothes hanging out the window to air out, but atl east she can still do the robot! Well I guess I need to get some shut-eye.

Love ya!

P.S. - I love you Kiki!!!

Day 3 - Prague
Authored by Jennifer Strong

Today was a very good day, well actually it was a very peaceful day. We got to shop today which was fun because we walked all over downtown Prague. Personally, I did not purchase that much because I could not find anything, but that's ok. Oh yeah, Angela bought a Harry Potter puppet (big surprise, smile!) I realized that 500 minute calling cards are really 88 minutes, that's because the lady told me the wrong thing. I thought they were 500 minutes; they are really 500 Czech Krowns. Yeah I was a little upset (so was Terri). Overall our last night in Prague was a great experience!

Day 2 - Prague
Co-authored by Karah Cloxton, Amber Peterink and Kiki Lund

We woke up this morning and toured the Prague Castle. It was beautiful. It looked like something out of a story book. We were looking for our Prince Charming unfortunately he wasn't there. We did succeed in making the ceremonial castle guards smile. On our way to lunch at the famous Czech T.G.I. Friday's (yes, we said T.G.I.F.) we crossed a huge bridge called the Charles. We made a wish on a famous Saint's statue. At lunch, the coaches allowed us to order as much water as we wanted, which was great since European restaurants don't allow free refills (Yeah, not even for water!)

We played the Czech team and no one told us to bring our football pads. The team was very good and physical. So far this has been a great team bonding experience. We are looking forward to tomorrow because we are going SHOPPING. There are some tubular discounts here!! Don't be jealous!
