DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton men's cross country runners Chris Lemon and Matt Lemon completed the NCAA Cross Country Championships Monday afternoon, running the two fastest 10K times in UD history.

Out of 252 runners, Chris Lemon finished 102nd clocking in at 30:55, while Matt Lemon ran 31:02 finishing 116th.

"I'm extremely impressed by Chris and Matt," said head men's cross country coach Rich Davis. "By coming out and competing today, nine days after already setting the top two 10k times in program history at the NCAA regionals, by re-setting history again today it just proves how mature these two runners are for sophomores."

Chris and Matt earned the program's first-ever berths into the NCAA National Championship race after having standout sophomore seasons for the Flyers.

Matt set UD's 8K record earlier in the fall season before Chris lowered it to 24:11 at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championships, and now the brothers stand first and second, respectively, in the 10K record book as well.

With two years remaining in their Flyer careers, it will remain to be seen just how many more barriers the twin brothers can break.
