Freshman Matt Lemon finished third overall in the 10,000 meter run

The Dayton Flyers men's cross country team capped off the 2008 track season with a strong showing at the All-Ohio Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Cincinnati on April 18-19. Freshman Matt Lemon posted a new school record in the men's 10,000 meter run, and three other Flyers recorded personal bests in other events.

Lemon finished third overall in the 10,000 meter run in 31:20. His time eclipsed Brian Tscholl's 1996 mark of 33:24.

Classmate Chris Lemon also recorded a top-ten finish on the day. He placed eighth in the men's 5,000 meter run in a time of 15:03.45.

Senior Billy Przybyla set a personal best in the men's 5,000 meter run in 15:40, good for 17th overall.

Junior Tim Kaelin and freshman Thomas Anderson also established personal bests in the men's 1,500-meter event. Kaelin finished 15th in 4:06.37, while Anderson was close behind in 19th in a time of 4:14.87.

Kaelin also set a personal record in the 800-meter, where he tallied another 15th place finish in 2:00.89.

The cross country team will begin the 2008 fall season at the Flyer 5K Challenge at Indian Riffle Park in Kettering, Ohio on August 30.
