MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUN SIX PERSONAL BEST TIMES AT 5,000 METERS
March 28, 2006 CEDARVILLE, OH - All six Flyers entered into Saturday's 5,000 meters at Cedarville University's Yellow Jacket Open set Personal Best times. Freshman Matthew Peters, Junior Eric Contreras and Sophomore Dan Sammons placed 3rd, 4th, & 5th, respectively in a field of 23 finishers. Contreras lowered his previous best time at 5,000 meters by 12 seconds, finishing in 15:37, while Sammons showed a 27 second improvement with a time of 16:00. Matthew Peters lead the team with a 15:36 clocking in his 5,000 meter track debut as a Dayton Flyer. Sophomore Billy Przybyla and Sophomore Eriksen VanEtten finished in 8th & 9th place, respectively. Przybyla's 16:19 established his first 5,000 meter track time as a Flyer, while VanEtten's 16:25 represented an improvement of 31 seconds from his freshman year. Freshman Tim Kaelin also ran the first 5,000 meter track race of his Flyer career in 16:38. The next track meet scheduled for Men's Cross Country 2006 spring season will be April 8 at Miami University. |
