DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's cross country team posted two new school records and several impressive finishes at the Hurricane Invitational on Saturday. Senior Daniel Sammons recorded a new school record in the 3000 meter steeplechase placing second overall in a time of 9:46.00. Junior Billy Przybyla also recorded a new school record in the 3000 meter finishing in 9:07.18 for 13th place out of 30 as UD competed in the team's first outdoor track meet of the year.

Sophomore Matt Peters also posted an impressive time in 3000 meter steeplechase placing third overall running in 9:46.58.

Behind Przybyla in the 3000 meter run was freshman Derek Henderson who came in at 9:07.77 for 14th place. Tommy Middleton (9:10.60) finished 16th. Brad Boyd (9:34.29) and Michael Connolly (9:54.52) finished 22nd and 25th.

Peters and Sammons also competed in the 1500 meter run posting strong times of 4:02.56 and 4:03.78 respectively. Peters placed 16th, while Sammons crossed the line in 20th place out of a 44 runner field.

Next up for the men's cross country team is the Cedarville University Invite on March 31st. Meet time is set for 11 a.m. ET.
