2007
Daniel Sammons began 2007 with a track personal best 15:34 in the 5000 meter and a team-record 9:29 in the 3000 meter steeplechase. During his senior season of cross country, Sammons lowered his 8K personal best by 65 seconds to 25:45, the 33rd fastest All-Time Top 8K Performance by a Dayton Flyer. His senior leadership earned Dan the team's prestigious High Flyer Award. He graduates in 2008, holding the team's tenth Harrier Hero position.

2006
As last year's Most Improved Runner, Sammons worked hard to keep up a strong 2005 season. In the winter, he was part of the school record setting Indoor 4x800 Relay team and set personal bests in five out of six races including a school record 4:22 Mile and a 16:00 5,000m. His hard work in the summer paid off as Sammons set a cross country personal best at the Flyer 5K and was in the top five for six out of the seven fall races. At the BGSU Falcon Invitational, Sammons ran his season best in a time of 26:50 and in the next race at the Atlantic 10 Championships he dropped to fourth man for the team. Next year he will be looked to as one of the leaders of the squad.

2005
Sammons had an outstanding year, dropping his personal best by 37 seconds and earning "Most Improved Runner." He ran in all seven varsity races, and set three separate personal bests in the five 8K races in the season. The final personal best was at the Atlantic 10 Championships where he finished in a time of 26:32 and finished as sixth man. His time was good enough for 21st on the Harrier Heroes list. In addition, Sammons finished fourth on the team twice and fifth once, proving that he can run with the team leaders. He also set four track personal bests, with two coming in the 1500 meters and one each in the mile and 500 meters.

2004
Sammons, another freshman surprise, finished no lower than 8th man all season long. He finished as 5th man twice, 6th man once, and 7th man three times. His personal best of 27:09 was set at the National Catholic Championships in South Bend, IN. He competed in seven of the eight varsity races. Building on this year's performance, Sammons could become an integral part of the Flyer pack next year.
