2006
Last track season, Manning started things off on the right foot by setting a personal best in the Indoor 5,000m (16:25) at Cedarville University before injury set in. He was unable to compete in the spring and worked hard during the summer months for the fall season, but injuries came back once again. He competed in two races for the Flyers finishing as the 12th man each time. Even as one of seven graduating seniors, Manning's leadership and commitment as a runner stand out.
2005
Manning spent the summer working in Dayton so he could train with the area runners. His work led him to becoming one of the most consistent runners on the Flyer team this year, running four of his 8K races within eight seconds of each other. Perhaps his best race, however, was at All-Ohio where he ran a strong 28:21 in the open race. Had he been in the varsity race, Manning would have scored as the team's fifth man. While he did not PR in cross country, he set a personal best in the 5000m in track in the spring; Manning ran a 16:29 in adverse weather conditions at the University of Cincinnati and looks to another strong track season and senior year in 2006.
2004
After a great spring track season, Manning again made the team by winning the intra-squad 5K. His best race of the season came at NCAA Pre-Nationals where he finished as 3rd man with a time of 27:08. Manning also ran at the NCAA Regional meet and ran well enough to earn himself a position on the team next year. His personal best of 26:58 places him 35th and final position on the "Harrier Heroes" list. With another strong track season and summer's worth of training, Manning looks to accomplish big things next year.
2003
Manning made the team as a "walk-on" and improved as the season progressed. He competed in six varsity races, placing as seventh-man at the Lakefront Invitational in a Personal Best time of 26:58. This Chicago time ranks Manning in 33rd place on the "Harrier Hero" list.
