2006
Brian Gilchrist ran in four races in the 2006 season, with his best performance coming at the National Catholic Championships where he ran his season best time and finished as the fourth Flyer across the line. Gilchrist's career at UD is marked by several impressive achievements. He was voted the Most Valuable Runner after his sophomore season and will finish his career ranked fifth overall in Flyer history. He is currently engaged to Michelle Manegold and has accepted a position with GE upon graduation.
2005
Gilchrist was third man once and second man twice, but injuries kept him out of three of the seven races as a junior. At the Atlantic 10 Championships he was the Flyers' second man, running in a time of 26:18. Gilchrist is a competitor, and with hard work he can return as one of the three team members in the 25:00's, with his personal best being 25:35. He ranks fifth on the Harrier Heroes list and has the eighth, 29th, and 39th fastest times in UD history.
2004
Gilchrist established himself as one of UD's best runners. He owns three of the top 50 all-time 5 mile performances, including his personal best of 25:35 which was set at the Mel Brodt Invitational. He is currently ranked 4th on the "Harrier Heroes" list. He is one of the only three Flyers to complete all 8 varsity races. His four 1st man finishes and three 2nd man finishes helped earn him the Most Valuable Runner award. With continued hard work, Gilchrist will be among the leaders of next year's team.
2003
Showing the early-season potential to be one of UD's best runners, Gilchrist was hampered by injuries during the last half of the season. He finished as second-man in his first two races as a Flyer in both the Flyer 5k and the Mel Brodt Invitational. His 26:01 Personal Best set at Bowling Green ranks him as eighth on the "Harrier Hero" list and 32nd on the Top 50 Times. Gilchrist set an additional Top 50 Time of 26:16 as third-man at the National Catholic Championships. For being the top freshman finisher out of 28 teams at Notre Dame, Gilchrist was named the Atlantic 10's Rookie of the Week. He completed his freshman season with fourth-man and sixth-man finishes at the Chicago Lakefront Invitational and Atlantic-10 Championships, respectively.
