2006
Matthew Danis earned his spot on the team last fall and had a great spring season. He helped set the school record in the Indoor 4x800 Relay and set a personal best at the OSU Indoor Track Meet in the 3,000m (9:13). Coming into the fall, Danis immediately saw results from his summer training. He ran a UD personal best at the Flyer 5K in 16:39, but injuries held him back the rest of the season. He finished two other races at the Spiked Shoe Invitational and at the All-Ohio Championships. His leadership and maturity will be missed next year as he graduates in the spring.

2005
For the third straight year, Danis made the team as a walk-on and brought with him maturity and veteran leadership. He competed in five varsity races and one open race for the Flyers and ran a season best time of 27:33 at the Falcon Invitational, good for 22nd place overall. Danis also set four track personal bests, two coming in the mile and the other two in the 5000 meters. As a Dayton native, he helps organize summer workouts with teammates and will use that to bring his times down next year.

2004
Danis once again made the team as a "walk-on." He competed in five varsity races and two junior varsity races, setting his season-best time of 27:29 at the Mel Brodt Invitational. Although he did not have his best season, he continued to work hard and encourage his teammates. His goal for next year will be to get back on the "Harrier Hero" list.

2003
A dedicated athlete from the Dayton area, Danis made the team as a "walk-on." He competed in six varsity races and finished as Flyer's seventh-man in the NCAA Regional 10K. He ran consistently in the low 27-minute range through the first half of the season, setting his Personal Best at the Chicago Lakefront Invitational. This time of 27:05 enabled Danis to capture the last spot on the current Harrier Hero list.

HIGH SCHOOL
Was a three-time All-League selection in cross country...Also was a two-time second-team All-Area honoree...Was a three-time regional qualifier in the 3200 meter run and a two-time regional qualifier in the 3200 meter relay.
