Oct. 12, 2007
Sophomore Michael Rohana and junior Antonio Rodriguez teamed up in Flight "B" doubles to record Dayton's lone first-round victory on Friday as the Louisville Invitational got underway. The 16-team invitational showcases some of the toughest squads in the Midwest, including Indiana, Illinois, Illinois State, and homestanding Louisville. Although the Flyers went winless in first-round singles matches, Rohana and Rodriguez were able to move into the second round with an 8-6 win over Cleveland State's Steve Wipprecht and Brad Groleski. It was Rohana and Rodriguez's first time playing together this season. Next up for the duo is the Toledo tandem of Sven Burus and Nutthavit Likitkumchorn. Day two action will be held on Saturday, October 13 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The Flyers will have six singles participants playing in consolation matches. |
