Monroeville, PA - After falling to George Washington in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships, the UD men's tennis program fought back in the consolation bracket to claim sixth place in the conference. The Flyers defeated Saint Louis University for the second time this spring on Friday, before falling to Duquesne on Saturday, 4-3, in a tight match to cap their season.

UD finishes with a 13-12 overall record, with a 5-5 mark against Atlantic 10 competition.

Dayton dropped two doubles matches early to fall behind a point, but battled back in singles play.

Freshman Michael Rohana scored the Flyers' first point at the three spot with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Adam Townsend.

Senior co-captain Tom Murphy then defeated Duquesne's Paul Clough at first singles, 6-3, 6-2, to win his 19th match of the spring. With the win, Murphy finished his senior season a career-best 26-6 in singles play.

Fellow captain, senior Rex Cabrera, scored the remaining point for the Flyers. Cabrera, playing at fourth singles, knocked off Jeremy McClelland 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (7).

The match would not be decided until Duquesne's Michael Ortega beat out Dayton junior James O'Connell, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (4), in a breaker at second singles.
