Monroeville, PA - The University of Dayton men's tennis team's attempt to reach the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship final for the second time in three seasons is over. After winning their morning match by a score of 4-0 against Rhode Island, the Flyers fell by the same score in an afternoon match with George Washington. Dayton will play in the seventh place match on Friday against Saint Louis at 11 a.m. ET.

Dayton had beaten George Washington earlier in the season, but the Colonials turned the tables on the Flyers by taking the doubles point and three singles contests. The remaining matches did not finish.

UD dropped two of three in doubles play, but the top tandem of junior James O'Connell and senior Tom Murphy (13-7) managed to dig out an 8-4 win over GW's Sam Salyer and Elliott Daniels.
