Dayton, OH - The Dayton Flyers men's tennis team came through with a win over IUPUI at the NCR Courts in Dayton by a score of 4-3 Friday. The Flyers won three singles matches and second and third doubles matches putting them at 12-6 overall this spring.

Tom Murphy played well at #1 singles, posting a 6-3, 6-0 win over IUPUI's Juan Mas. Jonathan Khoury defeated IUPUI's Ross Gelhausen by a score of 3-0 while Chris Jones edged Ronnie Pedro in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles, an IUPUI pair of Mark Pyatt and Gelhausen, 8-3, defeated UD's pair of Murphy and Altenau. Downs and Cabrera responded at #2 doubles with an 8-6 win over Mas and Pedro. Jones and Vance came through in the final doubles match to seal the victory for the Flyers by a score of 9-8(4).

The victory was a good start for the Flyers' weekend as they travel to meet Duqesne in Pittsburgh on Saturday.
