Results

Junior David Peyton and senior Josh Vance each tallied a singles victory, but it was not enough as homestanding Dayton was defeated by Butler on Wednesday afternoon, 5-2. The Flyers fell to 8-12 this spring, and will gear up for their final regular season match this weekend.

Peyton held off Butler's Brandon Bayliss at No. 4 singles for a close 7-6 (6), 1-6, 10-8 victory. Vance's win also came in three sets as he edged Ben Shafer at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-7 (6), 11-9.

In addition to four singles wins, the Bulldogs also swept the doubles point from UD, which dropped to 6-3 at home this season.

The Flyers have one regular season contest remaining. Dayton will host the Cleveland State Vikings on Saturday, March 29 at 2 p.m. The 2008 Atlantic 10 Championships will be held next week beginning on Thursday.
